Speaking of evidence and reason; Senator Susan Collins, the Republican from Maine, gave a 45 min. speech on the Senate Floor to explain why she’s such a human-piece-of-sh-t and voting to confirm Kavanaugh. My favorite parts were her insistence that there was “no evidence” against Kavanaugh, which is laughable. 1.) Eye witness testimony (i.e.: Dr. Blasey’s testimony) is evidence; 2.) This was a job-interview, not a trial – the issue at hand was never to convict or not convict Kavanaugh of anything, including attempted rape of a minor (Dr. Blasey was 15 years old at the time of the attempted rape).
I wonder, if Collins was told the guy she was about to hire to babysit her grandchildren was a child molester if she’d say, “Where’s your hard evidence!?! I’m hiring HIM if you don’t have hard-evidence!” Would you hire such a guy to babysit your children or grandchildren? I certainly wouldn’t! Hell! I wouldn’t hire him to babysit Sen. Collins's CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN!
This whole “I don’t want to ruin Kavanaugh’s life” nonsense from Sen. Collins is just ridiculous. I’m not on the Supreme Court and my life isn’t “ruined” because of that fact. There are thousands of lawyers and judges in the United States, not to mention millions of other people, who don’t sit on the Supreme Court, are all their lives “ruined?” Is Brett Kavanaugh “supposed” to be on the Supreme Court? Is it his “inalienable right” to be on the Supreme Court? Talk about f-cking white-privilage! This is a whole other level of “entitlement!” I’m sorry. I don’t f-cking think so.
Lastly, Sen. Collins, I hope you appreciate that this is going to be your legacy; you’ll be remembered forever for this. When women throughout this country, including the women of Maine, start to lose their rights, when Unions begin to crumble, when the middle-class no longer exists, everyone will know it was your fault. And people like me will keep reminding them of this. I just want you to know that.
In closing I’d just like to apologize to Dr. Blasey. I’m sorry the country is just so f-cked up that as a country we simply are incapable of doing the right thing. Everything in politics now is about hate and anger and revenge.
Well, I guess we just need to keep on fighting the good fight and hope for the best.
